It is approximately a three and a half hour drive from Auckland. First you need to get onto the Southern Motorway, heading towards Hamilton. Then turn from Highway 1 left onto Highway 2 (towards Mangatawhiri) than taking Highway 25 towards Thames. Pass through Thames and follow the signs to Coromandel, drive through the Township and then head towards Colville. Mahamudra is clearly sign posted on the left just before you enter Colville.

Buses leave daily from Auckland City and Manukau (closest to the airport) bus terminals. Shuttle services are provided from the airport to Manukau and Auckland city bus terminals (about $32).

The Auckland/Coromandel Ferry trip of 1,5 hours is a beautiful journey, but leave yourself time to arrange alternative transport, in case the Ferry is cancelled due to poor weather conditions. It is important to check the timetable whenever you want to travel because it can be subject to change.

Departs Auckland - Pier 3, Quay Street:
Tues 9.00am, Thurs 9.00am, Fri 6.00pm, Sun 9.00am

Departs Coromandel - Hannford's Wharf:
Tues 4.30pm, Thurs 4.30pm, Fri 8.00pm, Sun 4.30pm

A Bus meets ferry for the 11km journey into Coromandel Town.
A Bus departs main road Coromandel Town 30 minutes prior to departure of ferry.
Passengers are advised to be there half an hour before the boat leaves.

Once you have arrived in Coromandel it takes about 30 minutes to get to the centre. Please phone and book your transport in advance.
