RETREAT COOK (mid August to end of November) We are looking for a
vegetarian cook to cater for our 3 month Vajrasattva retreat which
commences 25th August. There will be 22 retreatants and 4 staff to cook
for. You will also be responsible for ordering kitchen supplies and
maintaining the kitchen to a high standard. This is such a wonderful
opportunity to create merit and the conditions for your own retreat! If
you would like to offer service and support retreatants with your
cooking please contact us.HOUSEKEEPER Required to start in November 2012 for the busy summer season. Duties include taking care of the cleaning of the house,
guest rooms, cooking on the cook's days off and assisting with hospitality.Minimum term 3 months. Hours: Full time - 5 day a week. desire, without attachment..... results in happiness. Lama Zopa Rinpoche, January 4 2006 We are looking for someone who wishes to be part of a practising community in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. A strong wish to offer service from the heart as part of their spiritual practice is essential. A student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche would be ideal but , at the very least, one would have a positive connection with and sincere respect for Lama Zopa Rinpoche and the work and values of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) to which we are affiliated. Mahamudra Centre offers courses and retreats in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and practice, meditation courses and daily meditation classes. Teachers, both Tibetan and western, are invited regularly to teach at the centre. The centre is currently developing community outreach programmes for those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction and wish to offer programmes in the area of universal education and for the elderly in the near future. In addition, the centre offers private retreat and accommodation facilities and facility rental.
