Green Tara retreat.png

Tara is the active compassion of all the buddhas.

Her right leg extended symbolises her readiness to help, her left leg drawn into her body symbolises her control over internal energies.

Her green colour represents the transformation of jealousy into accomplishing others benefit and is the colour associated with the air element and action.

She is called the Saviouress, as she protects from the eight afflictions: Ignorance, Hatred, Attachment, Pride, Jealousy, Wrong view, Doubt and Miserliness.

Engaging in practice associated with her and repeating her mantra helps with success in beneficial activity and with our potential to attain enlightenment.
