The power of loving kindness is tremendous.
It can shift you from feeling isolated and separated to recognizing our interconnectedness.
It can transform anger, irritation, frustration into ease, confidence, inner strength, lightheartedness.
It can change your inner landscape from feeling cold, stuck, distant, indifferent to feeling connected to and
warmhearted towards others.
It can uproot your resentment towards a so called ‘challenging person’ to understanding and compassion.
It is very empowering to feel that you can be in control of your emotional landscape.
When your heart is in the right place, it shifts all your experience, feeling uplifted, joyful, at ease, and happy for no reason.
It is not always easy to be kind and friendly. We might be too busy, too tired or we might naturally not be very inclined to act with kindness. This retreat is a precious opportunity to enter into heart space, strengthening these inner qualities of kindness, friendliness and warm heartedness towards oneself and others.
Tuning into the heart, cultivating these basic human good qualities, elevating and expanding the energy of the heart is a wonderful gift for yourself and a gift for the world. We will work with the energy of the heart through sitting meditation, walking meditation and gentle Qi Gong based movement.
Qi Gong (pronounced: chi kung) is an ancient Chinese movement practice to work with your internal energy. Through combining sitting meditation with embodied practice (movement practice) the cultivation of loving kindness will happen on an even more profound and deep level within yourself.

This retreat is open to anyone interested in this topic, no previous meditation or retreat experience required.
For those with previous experience it is a lovely opportunity to deepen and expand their practice.
Please note that this retreat will be conducted in silence but instructions will be given.
About the Teacher, Hedwig Bakker
Hedwig has been practicing meditation since 2000 and has completed many individual and group retreats. She has been leading meditation classes, courses and retreats since 2004 in India, Nepal, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
She also is a certified Holden Qi Gong teacher and these many years of personal practice and leading retreats and courses have resulted in a richness of experience and a genuine joy in sharing, guiding and leading others in meditation practice.
Hedwig’s courses and classes are universal and suitable for people from all walks of life. Her approach is joyful, gentle, practical, down to earth, and with a sense of lightness and humour.

This covers the centre’s facility fee and fully catered, healthy vegetarian meals (vegan/gluten free options are available).
