A 2-Day Introduction with Venerable Nyima Gyaltsen
Discover the beauty, precision, and meditative depth of Tibetan Thangka painting in this rare 2-day introductory workshop at Mahamudra Centre.
Guided by Venerable Nyima Gyaltsen—an experienced Thangka artist with over 20 years of practice—you will be gently introduced to both the artistic techniques and the deeper meaning behind this sacred tradition. Trained in India from 1997–2003, Ven. Nyima brings authentic lineage knowledge along with a patient and supportive teaching style.
This workshop focuses on the Medicine Buddha Mandala, a sacred and intricate diagram used in Tibetan Buddhism as a support for healing, meditation, and inner transformation. Through the process of drawing and painting, you will explore not only form and proportion, but also the symbolism and philosophy that give Thangka its profound spiritual significance.
