For practitioners dedicated to the sustained, transformative work of the mind. Our environment is highly conducive—quiet, peaceful, and specifically designed to support extended seclusion.

• Affordable Support: Our special monthly rental rate is structured to support and enable dedicated practitioners. This includes all utilities (except gas and food).

• Managed Isolation: We ensure your solitude is protected. Groceries can be ordered by you, and delivered to your cabin by our Manager via a discreet note system, maintaining strict isolation protocols. Direct contact is reserved for emergencies only.

 

Application for Long-Term Retreat: This commitment requires a dedicated application process. Please contact the Centre to receive an application form. Applicants will require an interview with the Director and must provide reference(s) from a fully qualified Buddhist teacher who can attest to their suitability for intense, secluded daily practice.

 

 

Ngodro (Preliminary Practices): Paving the Path to Highest Realization

 

Ngo¨ndro (Tibetan for "preliminary practices") are the indispensable foundations that prepare the mind for successful Tantric meditation by removing hindrances and accumulating vast merit.

The Mahamudra Centre, with its Stupa and private cabins, is a perfect setting to complete some or all of these practices:

• The Four Main Practices: Prostrations, Mandala Offerings, Refuge and Bodhichitta, and Vajrasattva 100-Syllable Mantra recitation.

• The Gelug Tradition's Five Additions: Guru-Yoga, Water Bowl Offerings, Samayavajra mantra, Tsa-tsas creation, and the Dorje Khadro Burning Offering practice.
